The Position: Strategy Intern 

What will you be doing? 

As a Strategy Intern at frog, you will collaborate with strategists, designers, technologists, and program managers to envision and create new products, services, and experiences. You may work across any stage of the product development lifecycle but your role is to ensure that the concepts and designs are sensitive to both the needs of users and our clients’ businesses.  

You are empathetic, curious, humble, and creative. You don’t accept the world as you find it but strive to improve it. You are skilled at reducing complexity to hone-in on the essence of a business or strategy issue. You love learning. 

We want you to have:

  • Good storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience approaching ambiguous questions and thinking from first principles
  • 3+ years of work experience in any field
  • Business level ability in English
  • Current or recent enrollment graduate degree program (e.g. MBA, Public Policy, International Development, Research, Innovation, etc.)

Your Resposibiities as a Commercial Strategist:

  • Financial analysis and assessment of client’s existing operations
  • Category assessment, competitive analysis and projections of future growth
  • Financial modeling and revenue forecasting for potential initiatives
  • Developing powerful company, category and channel insights
  • Contributing to the development and definition of innovation strategies

We would love it if you also had: 

  • Experience in identifying and delivering on growth opportunities and bringing products or services to market.
  • Financial analysis and business case development skills
  • The ability to prepare compelling presentations in Keynote and PowerPoint.
  • An undergraduate degree in business, entrepreneurship, finance, research, engineering, social work, anthropology, human-computer interaction, or liberal arts
  • Hands on research expertise, from ethnographic and other qualitative research methods to quantitative research skills including survey design and data analysis.
  • An interest in global trends, from culture to people and business to climate, and how that impacts our world
  • Experience with SPSS or other statistical software.
  • Experience working in a creative environment with designers, and an interest in human centered design (sometimes called design thinking).
  • An interest in technology, both extant and emerging.
  • A second language (and every additional language is a plus!)

Locations 

Strategy Intern, Commercial Strategy will be placed in New York.

In your cover letter (not a separate document), please tell us why you want to intern at frog and answer one of the following questions in 250 words or fewer: 

  1. Lockdowns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic changed the U.S. workplace in several fundamental ways. Select one change to the workplace or daily routine that you feel is the most significant and how society (technology, human-to-human interactions etc.) may change (or already has changed) to best adapt.
  2. Sustainability and climate change mitigation necessitate bringing to market a large variety of new technologies. These technologies impact transportation, construction, food production and clothing manufacturing, just to name a few sectors. What strategies would you advise a company implement in order to drive consumer or enterprise adoption of specific “green technology” or circular economic practices? 
  3. Pick two companies that you think should collaborate to create a new to the world product or service. Explain the product or service and what you believe would be the benefits to consumers and each company.
