Munich, Germany

City Information

When most people think of Munich they think of beer steins, pretzels, and Oktoberfest. Those still exist, but the city on the Isar River, just north of the Bavarian Alps, is so much more. In 2009, Monocle Magazine rated Munich “the world’s most livable city,” citing both its culture and its business. The city has an active and diverse creative community of artists and designers. It’s the seat of Bavaria’s state government and students from all over the world come to attend one of its many prestigious universities. Munich is also home to BMW’s main plant and the center of Germany’s foremost soccer team, Bayern Muenchen.
