For a company like frog, which prides itself on combining emerging technologies and cutting-edge designs and does a lot of work in the digital space, launching a print magazine (design mind) seems to be an odd, nostalgic choice at first sight. Why talk about the future in a medium of the past?

I saw this image on fffound! this morning.

The name of this photo might as well be "The Sad Reality of Our Existence." Is this the inevitable reaction to an overdesigned world? When media and technology becomes ubiquitous, what can we do to escape sensory overload?

I saw the Royal Ballet of Flanders perform William Forsythe's "Impressing the Czar" last week at the Rose Theatre in New York. It was a mesmerizing experience: a demonstration of the possibilities of the human body and its bold orchestration as part of a stampeding, Dionysian collective.

In a very special design mind event at NYU last week, we featured Arun Chaudhary, who is traveling with the Obama campaign as director of video field production. The conversation between him and Fast Company senior writer Ellen McGirt brought forth some surprising insights into the emergence of online video (and new media in general) as a crucial component of political campaigning.

I just spent a few days at the FORTUNE Brainstorm: TECH in Half Moon Bay. In my typical fashion, the night before the event I begin to think about all the pressing issues on my plate. I rationalize that I really cannot give up that much time and convince myself not to go. The next morning I wake up and realize that I really should go. Mark Rolston our Chief Creative Officer is speaking. I want to support him. There are many interesting panels I want to attend and of course, Half Moon Bay is a beautiful place.

The (fabulous) "Communities Dominate Brands" blog points at a Guardian video interview with Arianna Huffington on the future of news journalism. Not too surprisingly, Huffington's view on traditional news reporting is not too rosy - in fact, she predicts a slow but inevitable demise.

The most exclusive brand in the world does not sell anything. Nor does it provide values, programs, or policies. It doesn't have a web site, a retail presence, a Facebook profile, a customer or member base. It is not clear whether the brand is a company, a non-profit, a political organization, a club, or a person.
